I've Got Blisters On My Fingers!!!!!!

After a night of three Ed Wood films and sweet and spicy tofu, I thought I'd recover by entering in the morning show playlist, only to discover we were a month behind. I am not a skilled typist (and easily distracted to boot) but after hours of labor I have finally updated the blog with our playlists. Phew!!!! But this means there is one important message that is now residing far, far below the entry you see here - THE LEGENDARY STARDUST COWBOYS MAILING ADDRESS.

The Ledge is celebrating a birthday September 5th, and we would love for you to make a cowboy's day by sending him your best wishes. The Legendary Stardust Cowboy's mailing address is as follows:

Norman Odam (aka The Legendary Stardust Cowboy)
P.O. Box 730742
San Jose, California
95173

Be sure to tell The Ledge that Shuffle Function sent ya!!

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT:

If you have been listening to the show, then you know that I am on a big Monty Python Flying Circus kick as of late. I am sure that many of you are familiar with their famous Dead Parrot sketch (as seen below)

but you are probably not as familiar with this version of it:

You are thinking "What in the Sam Hill is this??!!!" right? The description on the clip itself gives you a great explaination, so I will simply include it.

"This is a video created by a Nigerian email scammer who thinks he is producing a video for a scholarship payment from a victim he tried to scam. Unfortunately for this particular scammer, the "victim" fought back and created a fake video production company with promises of cash!

It has to be noted that the two people who appear in this video are probably not scammers themselves. More than likely they are amateur actors paid to do the work on the scammer's behalf. Even though their acting is petty shaky, they do seem to have had previous experience!"

I only wish I'd thought of such a thing!! Shyboy Tim and I get proabably ten annoying scam emails a day.

Be sure to tune in tomorrow, Labor Day, for a full day of your truly playing work related music for our day sponsor The Career Development Center on the campus of Minnesota State University Mankato. There will be prizes!! But if you have the day off - then i suggest you get a nap in. Halloween is right around the corner and we all know the decorating and holiday shopping involved with that.

RICH KRONFELD 2008

We interviewed Rich Kronfeld and Steve "Chopper" Sedahl in our very first year of Shuffle Function. They spoke to us about their insanely funny Comedy Central show Let's Bowl and about the uncertainty regarding its future.

Then the show got cancelled.

Still, we're life long fans of the show and of the guys. Rich is pretty active in the Twin Cities, and he's been starring in some fantastic short films that have been in the 48 Hour Film Festivals up there.

Here's the 2008 WINNER, starring Mr. Kronfeld:

ROOTIN' TOOTIN'!

The 2007 entry OPEN HOUSE!

The 2006 winner DANGEROUS PROXIMITY!

How're you doing, Rich?

GRIND FU CINEMA 4 TRIPLE FEATURE!

We've had a blast with all the Grind Fu Cinemas so far, but this is one of those that really REALLY gets us excited for what is in store for you. Three of the most notorious films by the world's greatest alcoholic transvestite director! Some folks may call these films bad, but the simple fact is that they are all incredibly entertaining, so they most definitely are not failures in that department. They are simply some of the most unusual films to be shown in Mankato... ever.

The best part is that it is all free. No admission charge for you at all! Just bring your friends and junk food and be at Wiecking 220 Auditiorum on Saturday, August 30th @ 7:00 pm. After that it's four hours of mind bending cinema.

Grind Fu Cinema is held the last Saturday of every month through October. Write to shufflefunction@hotmail.com for more information.

GET YOUR WAR ON: ANIMATED!

We've been big fans of David Rees' Get Your War On comic for as long as it has been running. He just has a way of taking some pretty dark times and making them even darker, all the while causing his readers to bust a gut laughing. Now, we can see his dark and profane take on the events of the day in animated form, as 236.com presents Get Your War On: The Animated Series!

GET READY TO LAUGH AND THINK! Also, it isn't safe for work, what with all the swears and everything. If you are a kid you should maybe not watch this. All you voters, however, might enjoy it!
