THE MOTHER OF ALL GRIND-FU CINEMAS!

THIS IS THE REASON GRIND-FU CINEMA WAS CREATED!

Join us on Saturday, October 25th @ 7:00 pm as we screen three of the most amazing films you could ever hope to see. I guarantee that if you've never seen a film by Lewis, then you have NEVER seen a film like these. They represent the first of their kind: Explicitly gory gory gory films. They aren't films that are high in budget, or quality, or talent, but they are definitely high in the gallons of blood and viscera strewn about the the screen!

DUE TO THE GRAPHIC NATURE OF THESE FILMS NO ONE UNDER 17 WILL BE ADMITTED WITHOUT PARENT!

THE FIRST 50 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE WILL RECEIVE EMERGENCY VOMIT BAGS!

Yes, the final Grind-Fu Cinema of 2008 is certainly shaping up to be a classy affair, so stay tuned to this blog and 89.7 the Maverick for further details!

FREE WILCO FOR FOLKS SMART ENOUGH TO VOTE!

One of the things I love about elections is that it always inspires great musicians to release music for the benefits of voters. If you go to wilcoworld.net and swear that you will vote in the upcoming election you can get a free download of Wilco and Fleet Foxes performing Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released"!

Free Wilco for peforming your civic duty? SWEET! You can get free Wilco and not even have to get dressed!

NOW THE CAMPAIGN REALLY BEGINS!

FINALLY! The debates are right around the corner! This is when we all finally get to see what the candidates have to say, and without the flowery graphics or ominous voice overs. There will be three presidential debates, but only one vice presidential debate. It seems like it is in our best interest to watch these things and become as informed as possible before we cast our votes. These historic times are screaming for informed voters!

THE SCHEDULE!

Me Throat Be Hurtin'

Thanks be to every scallywag that called, wrote, or sent messages in a bottle to us on International Talk Like A Pirate Day. After two hours of Pirate Talk, our throats were complaining something fierce around the Vocal Fold area - but that just means a 25 minute version of Sonic Youth's "Diamond Sea" for us all. Drink some tea with honey and lemon, and have a good weekend all you KMSU Pirates - and we will see you next weekend for Grind-Fu Cinema.

GRIND FU 5 WILL NOT BE DENIED!

Grind-Fu Cinema happens on Saturday the 27th! How can you deny yourself a FREE double feature in this wintery economic climate? Bring your friends and your junk food and join us in Wiecking 220 Auditorium on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato, for a great evening of cinema!

TALK LIKE A PIRATE OR WALK THE PLANK!

Friday, September 19th is Talk Like A Pirate Day, so guess what? We're talking like a pirate all day long! Around these parts we take our pirate talking pretty seriously, so there's some stuff you should know before you tune in:

1) If you call and request music you must talk like a pirate! If you are talking like a land lubber we will be unable to understand you, and as a result unable to fill your request.

2) If you send a request to us at shufflefunction@hotmail.com you must phrase it as a pirate would. Same as above.

Other than that it is business as usual.

So hoist the Jolly Roger and join us Friday, September 19th from six to eight a.m. as Shuffle Function celebrates talk like a pirate day. By the way, this is a pretty significant TLAPD, as the next two fall on the weekend and we won't be able to mark them! LET'S MILK THIS PUPPY!

GRIND FU CINEMA 5 IS COMING!

The second to last Grind Fu Cinema of 2008 happens on Saturday, September 27th! If you missed the first four, then you missed Kung Fu, Vincent Price, Cross Dressing, Swedish Wrestlers, Man Eating Plants, and... uh... OH YEAH! SOME REALLY GREAT FILMS!

This is a great double bill that you'll wanna catch. The first feature is pretty intense and violent, and the second one is unbelievably goofy. Throw in the fact that admission is completely free, plus you can bring your own junk food and sodas, and you'll soon find that attendance is pretty hard to resist.

It all takes place in Wiecking 220 Auditorium on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato, and admission is free for everyone. This is your second to last chance to catch some of the oddest films you'll ever see in Mankato. DO NOT MISS OUT!

I'm the new boy in town! Where can I go?
