A MESS OF MAY DATES TO REMEMBER

April showers apparently bring more than just May flowers, because there are a number of big events on the horizon that you are all invited to share in. I think the easiest way to begin is to start with what comes first:

MAY 22 - MORRISSEY TURNS 50!!

We will be celebrating this occassion with a morning show full to the rim with music from Morrissey and The Smiths, as well as cake and lots and lots of flowers. If you'd like to request a song for this day, either leave a note in the comments, or drop us an email at shufflefunction@hotmail.com

MAY 26 - BOB DYLAN DAY SPONSOR

This marks the return to a tradition of listeners pledging to mark Bob Dylan's birthday with a day of his music. Most if not all of KMSU's live music will be focused on Dylan originals as well as covers. Again if you have a song you'd like to hear on this day, feel free to add to the playlist by leaving a comment or dropping us an email at shufflefunction@hotmail.com

MAY 29 - KMSU LISTENER APPRECIATION NIGHT

You have all been so wonderful and patient with us over the last year, that we want to thank you in person. This is a FREE event, and everyone is invited (although it is a 21 and up show) to attend. Join us at the Red Sky Lounge for an evening with Mankato's very own Fish Frye, and from Minneapolis, THE NEW STANDARDS!!!!!! Music begins around 7pm, but feel free to show up early to grab a good seat and to socialize with other KMSU listeners and hosts. If you have never heard of The New Standards, well then you have not been waking up early enough to catch our morning show. Here is a link to their website: http://www.thenewstandards.com/ or check out this you tube clip, it pretty much explains everything:

MAY 30 - Another Season of GRIND - FU CINEMA begins

Grab your calendars and mark down GRIND - FU CINEMA in every last Saturday of the month, starting in May and ending on Halloween in October. This is another free event brought to you by the fine folks at Shuffle Function (i.e. Shyboy Tim and Shelley). It is a great opportunity to see some lost gems of the silver screen, as well as some awesome flops, with an auditorium of like-minded movie geeks. The movie line-ups for the season remain top secret until the month of their showing, but we can share with you what we have planned for the first night of Grind - Fu Cinema.

All GRIND - FU CINEMA events take place at the Weicking Auditorium on the campus of Minnesota State University, and are free of charge. There is plenty of parking - just look for the signs that say "GRIND-FU". Grab your friends, grab some junk food and sodas and we will see you there!!
