Do You Know What I Heard? (no, not sheep)

Hello Shufflefunctioneers!!

Looking for an excuse to clap your hands and jump up and down in delight, like a little girl getting her first pony? Well here you go,

REASON #1 This guy pictured to the left finally signed on to be a part of the Arrested Development movie. That means we will get to see the Bluth Family back in action in a theater near you (maybe by the end of the year)!!
This is the answer to my dreams - and it gives me hope that another favorite of mine, Quantum Leap might make it to the big screen.

REASON #2
When Conan O'Brien takes over the Tonight Show spot June 1st of this year he will be joined by his old sidekick, Andy Richter. When I used to stay up past 10 pm on a regular basis, Conan was a must watch for me . This was primarily because of Andy Richter. I was not very excited about Conan's big takeover before, but this changes everything. THANK YOU TV GODS FOR INVENTING RECORDERS. I can tape them all!!

BY THE WAY - TUNE IN TONIGHT AT 6 P.M. FOR THE DATES OF THE SHUFFLE FUNCTION 24 HOUR PLEDGE DRIVE A-GO-GO.

LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH OR SOMETHING!

It's been a few weeks since we've posted some serious time waster stuff on the blog, so I thought I'd just throw something out there quick for all the David Lynch freaks. Well, if you're a David Lynch freak you probably have already seen these, but if not then you are in for a seriously great thrill. Some of the most groundbreaking television of the last 20 years.

Twin Peaks is a show that pretty much changed modern TV drama. The innovations and quirks it presented were new and unprecedented, and yet they are pretty commonplace all over your TV dial today. If you are coming into the show so far after its existence, you might think "what's the big deal", but at the time there had never been anything like it. To this day the show is responsible for the single most terrifying thing I've ever seen on broadcast television.

Anyway, CBS has THE ENTIRE SERIES archived online, so if you don't have the scratch for the complete series, don't fret. This will get you hooked, AND THEN you can go out and make the big purchase.

I HAVE TWO WORDS FOR YOU GALS ..............TAST-EEE

This picture is included in the new 45 single, "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris", from Morrissey's upcoming album. I for one will be purchasing it, hugging it and squeezing it. In fact maybe I should buy two of them - one for fondling and one for framing.

TASTELESS JOKE REMOVED BY POPULAR DEMAND!

Shelley

THIS JUST IN:

Thanks to Carl at Tune Town I now have the coveted Morrissey 45 in my possession. It was proving difficult to fine unless I want to pay some import shipping costs, but I have it resting next to all of my Smiths and solo Morrissey LP's and my 12" Smiths singles from back in the day. I plan to play it for you during the vinyl portion of our upcoming Shuffle Function 24 hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go. That is a long time to wait!! But I want to share the experience with all of you die hard Smiths fans. Tune in this Thursday night to Shuffle Function to find out the dates of the marathon!!

LIFE IS SHORT AND IT'S FILLED WITH STUFF: LUX INTERIOR R.I.P.

Terrible news for music geeks: Lux Interior is dead.

The Cramps frontman died from a pre-existing heart condition in Glendale, California on Wednesday.

Shelley and I were fortunate enough to see The Cramps play in the Main Room at First Avenue, and they were everything we ever hoped they would be: Creepy and kookie, mysterious and spooky. Lux owned the stage and sweated like crazy. I should know, because some of that sweat dripped in my mouth. Yeesh.

But The Cramps will always be gods, and we will always play them. Thursday we'll be spinning all kinds of Cramps records, so call or e-mail with your requests as we remember the man and celebrate the music.

Wherever the hell he is, I imagine the record collecting is stellar. So long, Lux.
