They're over... FINALLY! Thanksgiving. Christmas. Hanukkah. New Year's... The excessive spending of money none of us ever had to begin with. Having to keep our homes spotlessly clean for visits from relatives we only see once a year. Kids on winter break amped up on chocolate, cookies and high expectations... and now the feelings of buyer's remorse, guilt from cheating on our resolutions, being stuck in our homes waiting to get outside to ride that new bike, shed those holiday pounds and clear out those stuffy lungs... HELLO POST HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA!!!

Eric Barnes (AKA Edgar Burn) was definitely on to something when he organized the first Extravaganza back in March of 2008. His goal was to provide a day filled with stress-free entertainment for everyone. He organized a multiple artist exhibit with plenty of extra wall space for the kids, sledding and hot cider for the familes and a blistering rock and roll show down at the What's Up Lounge for those lucky to be over 21. The first Post Holiday Extravaganza was a success... and to repeat the festivities another year was indeed a feat in itself. And here we are... year 3!

In a nutshell, it's been a very challenging 6 months for Edgar and his family after his cancer diagnosis, and those close to them are pulling together in numerous ways to help them through this trying time. Everyone who knows Edgar knows how much he's promoted both music and art here in town, using his smashing talents to front many incarnations of the legendary "Rhythmaplex Project", entertaining the masses with awesome local music and uncanny banter on KMSU's "Minnesota Music Hour", and all the while assembling the wildest metallic sculptures the mind can imagine. Mankato just wouldn't be the same without the guy, and we're ready to prove it.

It all comes back to music, art, friends and community. This year's Post Holiday Extravaganza is a multi-faceted event that will not only give us plenty to stare at, stuff our faces with and rock out to, it'll give back to a family that's gone above and beyond for all of us.

And now, we present this year's Post Holiday Extravaganza!!! ...Drum roll PLEASE...
