JULY GRIND-FU CANCELLED.

For some unexplained reason, we're unable to get any audio in the Wiecking auditorium. Unfortunately, there is no IT staff on-hand to fix the problem, since it is the weekend and Summer. As a result, we're forced to cancel both the matinee and tonight's Grind-Fu Cinema.

I'm terribly sorry for this. This Grind-Fu has been something I've been looking forward to ever since we came up with the 2010 lineup. Quite honestly, I needed this Grind-Fu. Believe me, this was beyond our control, and we wouldn't give up unless it was a last resort.

Most of all, I want to apologize to all the kids that were looking forward to seeing Willy Wonka in a movie theater. I hope some day that you will get the opportunity to do this, as it is a great film to see with lots of people.

Again, I'm really sorry. We're both really sorry. This breaks my heart.

Tim

2 o'clock matinee cancelled!

NONE OF THE GEAR IS WORKING AT WIECKING! As a result we are cancelling the 2 o'clock matinee of Willy Wonka, and at this point probably the whole thing. We'll know more in an hour or two. Please check back.

We're sorry about this, and I'm INCREDIBLY disappointed.

HALLOWEEN 999: REDUX

Here's an encore of Shelley's creepy Willy Wonka in reverse post, in honor this weekend's Grind-FU:

We have a request promo on the Shuffle Function morning show that references my very real fear of oompa loompas from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Instead of using the boogie man and other usual suspects to warn me away from bad things, my Mother used the oompa loompas. If we did something bad, they would come and get us. This shed a whole new light on a family classic for me, turning it into a horror film rather than a playfull romp through your imagination.

One of the scariest scenes for me was Gene Wilder on the boat. It made me very anxious and nervous as a child, and still does to this day.

CREEPY, right? Well this tops it below. Someone reversed the scene and now Gene Wilder freaks me out so much I had to turn the lights on in the room I am working on this post in. Check this out - but you have been warned, this is super creepy.

I can't stop myself now, you tube is a curse!!!

Okay - I have to get away from the horror. Let us try to end this on a high note, a cute adorable puppy ending for all of you cowering in a corner with fear over the Willy Wonka clips.

MUST HEAR RADIO

This Thursday night we celebrate our nine year Shuffle Function anniversary by airing the KMSU Listener Appreciation Show from May 21st at the Red Sky Lounge. We will air both sets from The Legendary Stardust Cowboy and The Fleshtones in their entirety and uninterrupted from 6 to 9 p.m.

For Tim and I this is the perfect way to celebrate almost a decade of radio. We both heard and fell in love with The Legendary Stardust Cowboy during our first year at KMSU. As you have all heard he was the first person we reached out to in hopes of getting an interview, and the realtionship has continued since then. Back then we also set an unobtainable goal of bringing The Ledge to town. That wish came true May 21st at The Red Sky Lounge, and you can hear the magic for yourselves!

The dream of a double bill of Fleshtones and Legendary Stardust Cowboy began two years ago when we interviewes Peter Zaremba for our Shuffle Function seven year anniversary. He was so much fun to talk with and such a good sport listening to Tim and I geek out over The Fleshtones that I ended the interview telling him our wish for bringing The Fleshtones to Mankato to play a gig with The Legendary Stardust Cowboy. Rather than hanging up on us, he told Tim and I to "make it happen - we will be there". It took some time and a grant to accomplish, but that is exactly what we did.

You can hear all of the craziness and rockin' for yourselves this Thursday night from 6 to 9 p.m. on KMSU 89.7fm. Listen on-line at www.kmsu.org by clicking on the button that says listen on-line. We want to give Gary a big thanks for lending us the two extra hours to air the entire KMSU Listener Appreciation Show.

Last but not least we want to thank you guys - our listeners. I have met and talked with so many amazing and creative people the past nine years of hosting Shuffle Function. You are the best.

YOUTUBE: HOW DOES IT MOTHERF***ING WORK?

This has been making the rounds for a while, but if you haven't seen Insane Clown Posse's video for Miracles, prepare to be dazzled. The reason I post this after all this time, is because there is group called called Noisebridge that recently set up outside an Insane Clown Posse show in San Francisco and put on a science demonstration for Juggalos. FINALLY, they will be able to understand how magnets motherf***ing work, or things like... you know... genetics.

Here's the link: JUGGALO SCIENCE!

MOVIE GEEK CALL TO ARMS: HITCHCOCK!

The British Film Institute has recently begun a campaign to restore nine silent films by Alfred Hitchcock. These films represent his earliest work, and they are deteriorating after years of use. BFI has set up a webpage seeking donations, asking movie geeks of the world to adopt one of these legendary works and save them from wearing away.

As with all things philanthropic, they are looking for large donations, but they also have an option to select the amount you want to give. Please remember that the donations are in British Pounds, so for every pound you give, you are giving around a buck and a half. Still, the end result will be the preservation of some very important cinema.

THE RESULTS OF MY AWESOME NIECE'S AWESOME SURVEY!

My awesome niece Anna
(not pictured: Awesome niece Mary, and awesome nephew Ben)

Thanks, Radio Heroes! Your votes helped Push my Awesome Niece Anna's survey well past the 100 votes they was looking for! Here are the results, via my sister:

The results from Anna's poll are in!!! The #1 state that people want to visit is... Vermont and Washington tied for first. Next she had New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and Wyoming rounding out the top. Delaware came in last with only 2 votes. Anna had 114 people participate. Thanks to all who helped her with her project(especially Uncle TT). She had so much fun with this!

Thanks again, everybody. You've made a great 10 year old happy, and also made her Uncle look good, too.
