I've been on a bit of a Nick Drake bender since I picked up the Fruit Tree set a few weeks ago. He's just one of those guys I have to dive into when I start listening to him.
One of the great tragedies of Nick Drake's legacy is that there is no film or video of him performing or being interviewed. We're left with photographs and the music, and I suppose the fact that he only exists in these perfect moments enhances his legacy. One thing I did find while looking around on youtube was this documentary that was included in the Fruit Tree reissue that came out a few years ago. It's about an hour long, but it's pretty moving. Nick's story isn't a happy one, but I'm glad people are celebrating him.
