I CAN'T IGNORE IT ANY LONGER.... SHUFFLE FUNCTION WELCOMES WINTER STORM ROWAN ATKINSON TO SOUTHERN MINNESOTA

I honestly didn't think I would have to do this again folks, but Mother Nature appears to not be finished with us yet. As I type big white fluffy snowflakes are falling at an alarming pace. By the time all is said and done we could have over 10 inches of show, and I don't even know if ice was a part of it all earlier in the picture! But it is my turn to name our British comedian themed Winter Storms, and I am turning to one of my comfort comedians for shelter in the storm, Rowan Atkinson.

He is perhaps best known as one of the numerous Black Adder persona's, but I fell in love with him as Mr. Bean. He is a master of physical comedy - often making you double over laughing with out having said a word, just a facial expression or gesture. But don't get me wrong - this guy has got some mouth on him. The Black Adder characters are built on a witty and sly mischief maker. If you have never watched the Black Adder series, do yourself a favor. Many of Britain's best are involved in it, and Rowan Atkinson is simply brilliant.

Watch this video on VideoSurf or see more Rowan Atkinson Videos

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH - I just heard the plow go by. Oddly most of the you tube clips for Rowan Atkinson have ben disabled, but I did find a few on line to share with you.

Rowan Atkinson - Invisible Drum Kit

Watch this video on VideoSurf or see more Videos or Videos

Allright - enough for now. You can now return to gazing out the window and asking yourself "WHY!!!!!!!!" now.

Be safe. Congratulation Winter Storm Rowan Atkinson. You win.

CALLING ALL TOM WAITS FANS

Tomorrow is a day designated for love, and while you may or may not buy into the Valentine Day spiel, it really doesn't matter. We have got your back on Shuffle Function. For those who could give a rat's *beep* about Valentines Day, Shyboy Tim will be running the boards until he has to motor off to the day job that supports his radio habit. He hates the consumer demands involved with February 14th, and so we will probably be ignoring it completely. But when he leaves I will take over the airwaves and play another Shuffle Function favorite artist who has a mastery over love and heartbreak songs, Tom Waits.

If you have a favorite Tom Waits love song or betrayal song you'd like to hear on the air tomorrow morning let us know. You can email us at shufflefunction@hotmail.com or call us during the show at 389 - 5678 or 1-800-456-7810. We'd love to hear from you, and Mr. Waits if you are reading this, feel free to chime in with your two cents worth too!!

Wednesday Morning Show Notes

As far as I am concerned, our show is first and foremost always about the music, but this morning Shyboy Tim and I went on a half hour talking spree about art documentaries. A few people asked if we could make a list of the films we mentioned, and because I have a free hour I would be happy to do that. All of these are amazing, inspiring and in some cases depressing as hell. I hope you get a chance to see a few of them.

HOW TO DRAW A BUNNY

Every time I watch this documentary I am inspired to create something. It follows the career of pop artist outsider Ray Johnson. I love so much of his work, but what really excites me is his mail art.

IN THE REALMS OF THE UNREAL

Henry Darger was a solitary man who worked as a janitor most of his life. When his health took a turn for the worst, his landlords had their first opportunity to peek into Henry's room. What they found was a fully formed imaginary world described in text and art that Darger had been working on his entire life. This is simply amazing.

ART OF THE STEAL

This is the tragic story of a man's lifetime collection of priceless art and what happens after he and his foundation are no longer around to gaurd the integrity of the collection. This will make you angry, and possibly cancel your upcoming trip to Philadelphia!

HERB AND DOROTHY

After you watch The Art Of The Steal, watch this great documentary and renew your hope for the world. This is a film about the Vogels, a couple who have dedicated their lives to art and collecting what they love.

EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP

What begins as a documentation on the world of street artists takes a turn towards the absurd. I don't want to say alot about this - I want you to experience all the twists and turns for yourself.

That's it, I have to get ready for work. I know that you can stream some of these on-line at Netflix, but they are worth tracking down to purchase for your collection. Enjoy!

RIP TURA SATANA: QUEEN OF THE BADASSES!

I was saddened to hear that Tura Satana, cinematic uber wildcat, passed away recently. Her most notorious role was in Russ Meyer's Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, as the leader of a roving gang of go-go dancers. She chewed up the scenery and didn't take prisoners. If you have never seen FPKK, then make a point of doing so. It's a fast paced, rough and tumble film, filled with Russ Meyer's flair for flamboyant dialogue and female physiques.

Come For The Football, Stay For The Vader

Debating whether or not you should watch the Green Bay Packers win the Super Bowl? This little gem should change your mind!

I'm pretty sure there will be more commercials during the Super Bowl to see, but don't quote me on that.
