RECORD STORE DAY 2012: THIS BLEEP'S ABOUT TO GET REAL

RECORD STORE DAY (aka SECOND CHRISTMAS)
Saturday, April 21st, 2012

Your Mankato Hookup:
TUNE TOWN
630 North Riverfront Drive
STORE OPENS AT NINE A.M.!

KMSU WILL BE BROADCASTING LIVE FROM 8-10am
KMSU 89.7fm/KMSK 91.3fm/kmsu.org

It is Second Christmas Eve, and I'm listening to some recent vinyl accumulation to prep for the big day.  Lists have been made, strategies planned, KTels have been numbered, and credit cards have been paid off.  We're incredibly excited, and we hope to see you guys at Tune Town so you can wallow in an orgy of complete Music Geekatude.

Carl is opening shop at nine a.m., but KMSU will be broadcasting live from 8 to 10, so if you get there early you can see Jim "Gully" Gullickson in action.  We'll be playing Shuffle Function Radio Roulette from about 9:30 to noon, so stop in, pick up some Record Store Day exclusives, and then draw a number to determine our random playlist!  It's gonna be fun.

LATER THAT SAME DAY...

GRIND-FU CINEMA PRESENTS

JANDEK ON CORWOOD
and
VINYLMANIA

Saturday, April 21st @ 7:00pm
Wiecking 220 Auditorium
on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato

FREE!  FREE!  FREE!  FREE!  FREE!

You can see a couple of great music documentaries FOR FREE to close out your Record Store Day revelry.  JANDEK ON CORWOOD is a mysterious and fascinating documentary about the mysterious and fascinating musician known as Jandek.  Even if you aren't a fan of Jandek, you won't be able to resist the mystery, and after the film is over you'll have more questions than answers.  JANDEK ON CORWOOD is fantastic.  Must see Music Geek cinema.

Second on the bill is VINYLMANIA, an Italian documentary devoted to vinyl culture.  You'll get collectors, musicians, artists, DJs and revolutionaries, and they all wax poetic over the beautiful medium of vinyl.

I'm the new boy in town!  Where can I go?

THE DAY IS JUST PACKED!  Celebrate your mom and pop records stores ALL DAY LONG with KMSU!  We'll see you then!
