TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE PLEDGE DRIVE...

Well, kids, the pledge drive starts tomorrow. It's the time where we come to you and beg desperately for your financial support to keep good ol' KMSU on the air in this desolate corporate radio landscape. We only hold these drives a couple of times a year, and only for about twelve days per drive, so we try not to get in your face too much when asking for your donations. However, we truly do rely on your financial assistance to keep the station going.

This drive sees us staring down the largest goal we've had in the eleven years that Shuffle Function has been on the air: $30,000.  In years past we've had large goals, but it's traditionally be tooth and nail trying to reach it by the end of the drive.  We're up for the challenge, but it's still pretty intimidating.

KMSU simply doesn't have this kind of money, but we're hoping that you guys will throw in and keep the radio dream alive. Now, if you listen to KMSU at any point during your day, you are likely doing so because we provide the kind of programming you simply can't find anywhere else, and most of it is produced by people from your neighborhoods and towns that adore what they present and believe in the idea of community driven radio. For most of you, simply keeping the station going is reward enough for your generosity, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to sweeten the pot a little.

If you have never pledged to KMSU, please consider doing so.  Your gift will help keep this wonderful and unique little station alive and on the air, and if you listen to us, then you know that you are listening to a rare and wonderful thing.  If you have given before, please consider continuing your support.  New and continuing supporters are truly RADIO HEROES.  Every pledge makes a difference, whether it is five dollars or five thousand dollars.

We'll be on the air bright and shiny on Wednesday morning, and we would like to hit the ground running.  Show your generosity early and then listen guilt free for the rest of the drive!  Just please make sure you make that donation.  It really does make a difference.

Don't forget that the Shuffle Function 24 Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go starts at six p.m. this Thursday!  We'll be on the air for 24 sleep deprived hours, existing only on the basic human needs of caffeine and rock and roll, as well as your relentless generosity.  It's a lot of work doing this thing, but mostly it's a lot of fun, and it's a thrill to talk to KMSU listeners and hear what this station means to them.

Thanks a ton, you guys.  Talk to you soon!
