I am going to use today's Halloween countdown post to get everyone up to speed on this week's activities, because it is a busy one! Print this off and slap it on your fridge, or add the dates to your own Goats and Ghosts In Trees Calendar.
KMSU FALL PLEDGE DRIVE STARTS THIS WEDNESDAY RADIO HEROES!!!
We kick off the KMSU Fall Pledge Drive on Wednesday and it runs through November 4th. We have some great premiums available as a thank you for your financial support, and we will give you a sneak peek tomorrow on the blog so be sure to check back. Gully has set the KMSU Fall Pledge Drive goal high once again, and so we really hope to hear from you in the weeks to come.
SHUFFLE FUNCTION RADIO ROULETTE IS THIS THURSDAY FROM 6 to 7 p.m.
This Thursday night at 6 p.m. we will be spinning a round of Shuffle Function Radio Roulette! We only do this a few times during the year, during the Marathon, Record Store Day and Halloween. Nothing is scarier to two control freak radio show hosts than handing over the fate of the play list to the Radio Gods, but that is exactly what we are doing. We break out my collection of 400 or so K-Tel Records, grab the magic hat, dice and quarters and hope for the best. Each song we play is determined by drawing a number from the magic hat, flipping a coin for playing side A or side B and rolling a ten-sided dice to determine the track to play. It can be amazing and it can be soul crushingly bad, we just never know! Shuffle Function Radio Roulette happens Thursday night from 6 to 7 p.m. so don't miss it.
POLKA TIL YOU PUKE ON THE FRIDAY MORNING SHOW
One of our favorite days is coming up at the end of the week - and just in time to get the weekend started right! Friday we will welcome the usual suspects back into the studio for three hours of polka music as we celebrate Octoberfest on Shuffle Function. Ambrose, and #1 Polka Fan Maude will be dancing and Whoop-Dee-Doing it up with us as we play Minnesota's own version of party music. Any requests for the morning? Let us know - email your polka tune to us at email@example.com .
SATURDAY OCTOBER 27th
7 p.m. at the Weicking 220 Auditorium
This Saturday is the last of our Grind - Fu Cinemas of the season folks, and we will be celebrating with Bigfoot and Cake! You are all encouraged to come decked out in your Halloween costumes and we will be providing Trick Or Treat Candy for your movie going experience. We have two films for your viewing pleasure, and the subject matter is near and dear to my heart. At 7 o'clock we will be screening BIGFOOT. This film features bikers, chicks, hillbillies, JOHN CARRADINE and not just one Bigfoot but an entire family!!
Here is the trailer for our 7 pm feature BIGFOOT:
AND THEN WE EAT CAKE AT INTERMISSION!!
Our second feature is a classic film in the genre, and one that scared and frightened a generation of future Bigfoot fanatics! Legend Of Boggy Creek is not to be missed. It's documentary film style and use of actual people in the actual locations makes this "True Story" work. This film has frightened many of us as kids, so let's all re-visit it together again on the big screen!
Here is the trailer for Legend Of Boggy Creek:
This week is going to be a lot of fun - and we will see you all there! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org
