We had an amazing start to the pledge drive this morning!  KMSU listeners really came through for us, because we made $2000 during the morning show!  In the words of Gully: "HOLY CRAP!"  It was an excellent way to start the 2013 Spring Pledge Drive, and a great inspiration as we head into the 24 Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go.

The Shuffle Function 24 Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go starts tomorrow night, Thursday, April 25th at six p.m. and comes to a screeching halt on Friday, April 26th at six p.m.  We're going to be surviving only on the basic human needs of caffeine and ROCK AND ROLL, as we desperately plead for your financial support to keep KMSU on the air.  It's a good time and a very good cause, so please pledge if you haven't already done so.

One of the things we're most excited about offering as a premium during the Spring drive is the Nick Drake Collection.  For a pledge of $100 you'll receive three amazing albums: Five Leaves Left, Bryter Layter, and Pink Moon.  These are the only albums Nick Drake put out during his life time, and at the time they were virtually ignored by record buyers.  Forty years later they are recognized as the masterpieces that they are.  All Music Guide gives all of them five out of five stars.

If the subject of music comes up when I first meet somebody I'll always ask if they've heard of Nick Drake.  I'm thrilled if they haven't heard him, because I know that I'm about to introduce them to their new favorite musician.  Nick's music really hits an emotional chord.  It captures a mood.  To me, it's always been the perfect soundtrack for a night time walk or drive through the country, and if there's a full moon then all the better.

Here's the weird coincidence:  Thursday there is going to be a full moon, so the conditions are already perfect for listening to Nick Drake, but it gets even weirder.  The full moon tomorrow night is what is called a Pink Moon!  Nick's final album was called Pink Moon, and the song Pink Moon is probably the most full moon drive perfect song in his catalog!  Normally this degree of synchronicity is engineered by THE ILLUMINATI, but I swear... this is total coincidence.

The stars and moon are aligned, KMSU listeners.  You were meant to discover Nick Drake, and the conditions are perfect for it.  Call 507-389-5678 or 1-800-456-7810 and make your pledge.  You can also pledge online at  Every pledge makes a difference, but take the plunge and get the Nick Drake collection.  It's going to be the music that you'll love introducing people to.
