DONDERO FANS REJOICE! RICK HARTSOE ON THE MORNING SHOW THIS FRIDAY!

When Shuffle Function turned ten a few years ago we celebrated with five hours of programming devoted to the Dondero A Cappella Choir and Pop Concert Instruments.  The centerpiece of the whole shebang was an extensive interview we did with Rick Hartsoe, the guiding light behind the concerts for four decades.  We had been searching for him for years, so for us it was quite a coup, and out of it we've developed a long distance friendship that keeps delivering new and interesting facts about the history of Dondero High School and the Pop Concert experience.

At the time of the interview Mr. Hartsoe said that someday we would meet.  He didn't know when, but he felt it would happen.  Of course we hoped that would be the case, but he's a busy guy in his retirement.  Rick and his wife Donna travel around the country in an RV visiting former students and seeing the sites, and Mankato is one heck of a detour.  On Friday, September 27th, this is gonna change.

Rick Hartsoe will be joining us in the studio for music and memories about Dondero High and Pop Concert.  This is all very unexpected and it came together spontaneously this morning during the show, so we're still trying to wrap our brains about it.

RICK HARTSOE WILL BE ON THE MORNING SHOW SEPTEMBER 27th, 2013!
Listen live from six to nine a.m. CST on KMSU 89.7fm/KMSK 91.3fm (Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa listeners) or online at kmsu.org!

Here's ALL FIVE HOURS of our Dondero programming, just in case you didn't get a chance to hear it live the first time. Let us know what you think!

And don't forget to check this out!  Mr. Hartsoe loaned us his archive of Pop Concert video, and we put together a special Grind-Fu presentation of some of our favorite moments.  If you aren't already in love with the Pop Concerts, you're gonna be after watching this.  Enjoy!
