DEAD SET ZOMBIES ARE THE NEW REALITY
Yesterday I posted something about the amazing British TV series Utopia. You watched it, right? Good stuff. Anyway, it reminded me of another incredible British TV show that I first encountered a few years ago via Scooter Polanski, purveyor of life changing Scootermas videos. Being that it was Scooter Polanski, the show dealt with zombies.
Dead Set is a five episode series that aired in the UK in 2008. The premise is brilliant and terrifying. It takes place during a fictional series of the reality show Big Brother. You see all the typical Big Brother stuff taking place on the set, hear the obnoxious TV voice overs that are a trademark of the British version of the series, and catch a glimpse behind the scenes of the production. Life must be hell when you're on that show, except for one thing: It's the only secure place to be when the zombie apocalypse hits.
Dead Set was released to great acclaim in the UK, but for some reason it doesn't seem to have made it to the U.S. Which is a shame, because it's really terrifying and well made. I would think it would go over like gangbusters over here, and then they could make a terrible American version of it. That's how TV works, right?
Anyway, here's Dead Set, a great freakin' zombie show.
