The Halloween Countdown goes to the dogs for post #5

This Halloween James Mackey is once again hosting a fundraiser for the Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society (BENCHES). The event is called 'Halloween Creature Feature', and you can be more than just a participant. If you are an artist and would like to contribute to this great cause, James is accepting art work that will be auctioned off during the event on Halloween night. It's a great way to support BENCHES and a chance to get super creative with your horror-centric artwork.

I just ran into James the other night, and he said it is not too late to submit your art work. Here is the link to the event page and how to get a hold of James with any questions you might have.  There is also a face book event page for the Halloween Creature Feature that you can find HERE. It all takes place at The Mankato Brewery Friday, October 31st from 7 to 9 p.m. I am also happy to say that my band Royal Atomic will be a part of this fantastic night. We like to describe ourselves as a "music geek's cover band", and we are super-psyched to be able to play in our Halloween costumes.

Here are a few examples of artwork that will be available to bid on auction night. I actually purchased a few of James's pieces a few years back that I have hanging in my home and in our Shuffle Function office at KMSU. So if you want to get involved (and you should!), you can one or more of these three things: donate some of your art, attend the Halloween Creature Feature, and last but not least bid on local art work. No matter what, the pets and animals at The Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society are the winners. See you Halloween night!
