TWIN PEAKS: THAT SHOW YOU LIKE IS GOING TO COME BACK IN STYLE

WOW BOB WOW!  I never thought in a million years this would be happening.  Usually a fiasco like Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me would pop a cap in a beloved franchise, but then something like this happens:

Production begins in 2015 on a new Twin Peaks series, which will air on Showtime in 2016.  All nine episodes will be written by David Lynch and Mark Frost (original producer of the show), and David Lynch WILL DIRECT all nine episodes!  Lynch hasn't directed a major project since the incredible Inland Empire, which came out nearly ten years ago, so this is VERY welcome news.

As of now there's only speculation on what the show will be about.  It appears that it will take place in the present day and will deal with the lore and story that was established with the first series.  So much could go wrong.  Fire Walk With Me went back to the well and did nothing at all to enhance the series, and my fear is that we'll get too much dwelling on the past and not enough establishing a new future.  If they decide to examine the supernatural elements of the show, then I really think the show could blossom, but I don't know what else is left for the town of Twin Peaks after being absent for 25 years.

Whatever happens, it is bound to be interesting.  Why does it have to be so far away, though?
