It was only 12 years ago that the Shuffle Function Morning Show began by playing the Velvet Underground's Rock And Roll. There were angry calls from BBC fans, hilarious cranky e-mails from one VERY humorless person that I'll always cherish, gallons of coffee and energy drinks, and sad attempts at commentary because there was a political convention going on. What is it they say? "The more things change, the more they stay the same"? Yeah, that's about right.
So, it's our twelfth anniversary tomorrow morning, and we don't really know what to do for it. Do you folks have any ideas? We've been so busy with other projects that this one sort of crept up on us. Send any suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org, and if something sticks we'll try and get a show together. Shelley suggested that we try to do a good show, but I'm worried if we do that it'll set a precedent for future shows, so...
The one thing we do know we're doing is that we've giving away vinyl copies of our morning show theme to the twelfth caller. TWELFTH CALLER. That's a lot of callers at that time of day, but we're gonna give it a whirl. How do you win?
- Listen for the rooster crow, followed by the Legendary Stardust Cowboy saying "Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey, it's Shuffle Function!"
- Be the 12th caller at 507-389-5678 or 1-800-456-7810.
Super simple, right? Here's a pro tip for winning. Typically we're lucky to get ONE call during the first hour, let alone twelve, so if you're the first caller you should just call eleven more times. There's a very good chance you'll win. No promises, but you have history on your side.
Hey, thanks for all your amazing support over the years, gang! KMSU has the best listeners ever, and that's a hard fact.
