The first season of Documentary Now! was great, but the second season has been dead on perfection.  If you have never seen the show before, it's a parody of legendary documentaries that is both loving and occasionally brutal.  Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, along with Seth Meyers and John Mullaney, are the creators of the series, and they hit all the right notes.  If you're a fan of documentaries like we are, then you'll really love this series.

The first of a two part season ender aired last night, and parodies both the Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense and The Band's The Last Waltz.  In some ways if feels like they were trolling around in Shelley's brain, because both of these bands and documentaries are among her favorites.  These episodes are called Final Transmission, and they document a farewell concert from Test Pattern, who are patterned after Talking Heads.  We have watched the episodes left, but the clips that have aired indicate that this will be another perfect episode.

Like last year's Blue Jean Committee episodes, this one is also accompanied by a soundtrack.  Today IFC posted it on Soundcloud so we could begin obsessing over the incredible detail the show put into the music.  Fortunately, it's a great listen.
