Saturday, February 25th & Sunday, February 26th

The top priority for Scootermas in any given year is to celebrate friendship and overindulge on movies, food, drink, and laziness.  The entire Scootermas weekend always ends with the Academy Awards, which is why this year it falls on Saturday, February 25th & Sunday, February 26th.  Also, because it happens during the Academy Awards, we need lots and lots of Nerf guns.  LOTS.

Why so many Nerf guns?  Because sometimes things happen during the awards ceremony that just make a person... well... they just make a person go a little MAD sometimes, you know?  Like when Jared Leto shows up.  Sometimes the only way to respond to that is with a volley of Nerf suction darts aimed at the TV.

Not big fans.  Anyway, it's cathartic and fun, and also completely pointless, which is another thing that makes Scootermas that much more necessary.  After a year of work and life challenges, it's kind of great to have this concentrated dose of mindless fun.

Nerf suction darts are REQUIRED, because there's no fun in just having the darts bounce off the screen.  With the suction darts you can have a better measure of accuracy and grouping, too, which is nice.  It seems like they're harder and harder to find in stores as of late, but you can still get them online, which brings me to my next point:  BUY IN BULK.

You can burn through what seems like a good quantity of darts in a very short amount of time, depending on the nominees and presenters on any given year.  The ceremony is always VERY LONG, so that gives you lots of opportunities for draining the stockpile.  Best case scenario, you'll have enough darts to get through an entire broadcast without having to leave your seat to gather up Nerf rounds.  In my dreams there will be darts up to my ankles by the end of the night.  We're not there yet, but we're close.

Hope your Scootermas planning is going well!  It's just over a month away!

This commercial shows almost exactly what Scootermas is like, except ours is much older and lazier.
